Kat Met Die Houtbeen is a fuller-style Sauvignon Blanc, fermented and matured in French oak barrels for 10-12 months, depending on vintage. Using a careful balance of old (75%) and new (25%) oak puncheons (500L), and occasionally enhanced with a touch of Sémillon in leaner vintages, this wine offers remarkable depth and complexity.
Expect elegant aromas of exotic starfruit and dragon fruit, complemented by tropical undertones of passionfruit, ripe pineapple, and yellow peaches. On the palate, this wine is harmonious and beautifully rounded, offering crisp freshness balanced by a pleasing texture, notable minerality, and impressive length.
